Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh! A certain friend who shall remain nameless, although it'll become pretty obvious now when I say that it's one of my female friends (guess who, lol, I've only got one) gave out my number to someone... I dont know who but they just wont stop texting me.
I've been launching all kinds of excuses at them as they seem pretty stupid so I thought "after a while, they'll get the message and give up". I've been throwing all kinds of excuses such as "I cant make that time", "I'm out of money", "I'm going to the gym", "I'm going out to the pub with co-workers", "I'm just chilling out gaming", "I cant be arsed", "I'm too busy playing my PS3", "I'm waiting for the postman (at 7pm... yes)", "I'm stuck in the toilet", "I'm stuck in a queue", " I am at work", "I'm too busy giving birth at the hospital"... ok, ok, I did launch all of those at this person apart from the last one which is just a joke. Apart from that one though, they're all true, albeit lame excuses but it didn't really seem to matter as this person just kept texting...
I wonder if it's the good looking but excruciatingly retarded Carl Stinton? (I've posted about him before... he's the one who didn't know what MSN, an email or even a PC was) who she gave my number to... he's the only person who a) loves me that much for an unknown reason and b) has that magnitude of retardation that he just wouldn't get it.
Anyway, at about 4pm today after having not text him back, I received 5 texts in one hour. This finally managed to annoy me enough to decide that it was time to verbally puncture his aorta. So far... my insulting reply seems to have worked *fingers crossed*.
And that should be the end of that! Note to self: Kick friend for giving out my number
I thought it was the end of it but this bugger already had me on MSN somehow (my list of contacts is colossal, I dont even know who half the people on it are) I thought they were someone else because they'd got the same name as about 4 other people on my MSN, lol. So the convo started off with me being fairly friendly and then when I realised who he was my tone changed completely. When questioned about all of the text messages and that he seemed to be quite stalker-like he said "I thought you were just busy" and then I thought "What? with that number of excuses... how thick are you?" Very thick it seemed as the next thing he said was "can I see your webcam?" to which I replied "you dont need to see my webcam". I'm pretty sure he blocked me then, lol so I just blocked/deleted him and went "thank fuck for that!". Honestly, what is it with these generic fuckers where all they have to say is "can i see ur picture and can i see ur webcam?" NO! Fuck off, if you want some porno... go elsewhere, this is the internet, my picture is irrelevant. Yes, it helps but when it's the FIRST thing that people keep asking for... pft, just start a normal conversation and then politely work that question in somewhere and the request may actually be obliged (for a photo anyway, webcam is too much info).
It's just another week in the weird arse circus playground complete with frilly flappers for me.
Not a lot has happened since Monday and to be honest, I dont really have anything that is too interesting to talk about. Well, I say that but somehow I'll probably go off on a tangent at some point in the near future... otherwise this is going to be a very short post.
I've had some good conversations on MSN this week - I dont usually LJ too much about MSN convos... especially with people whom I've never met in real life as they are hmm.. usually a fluctuating pile of queerness, who knows where they could go. Occasionally, you get one and it makes you think... about a whole host of different things that you'd maybe not contemplated for a while and then you think some more and hmm, it actually becomes slightly intreguing which is really quite rare. Like one of those transcendental moments when you realise something that had eluded you for so long. Anyway, that is enough about that.
I've had a good book to read and it's a shame that there are no more Odd Thomas books after Odd Hours which I am about 100 pages away from finishing. I really do like the Odd Thomas books for some reason, the first one drew me in and well... here I am reading book no4... wishing that there was book no5 on the horizon.
I have finished my current sewing project. I will take some pictures when I get around to it. Funnily enough, I woke up at 5.45 this morning and I was dreaming of beads... lol. I shifted my arse to work for 7am, it is exams day here y'see so I was in super early in order to help all of the schools import their exam results and print off various reports / results sheets. Considering how long the day has been, it hasn't dragged too much as we've had a fairly steady influx of calls until this afternoon when I somehow managed to get my cases down to zero.
I've taken some photos of my work but I left my memory card reader at work... lol ><
LARP... yes, thats Live Action Role Playing. If you've seen the film 'Role Models' which I actually thought was a fairly decent comedy (yes, omfg, I'm actually endorsing a comedy, it's going to snow... watch out!) then you'll have seen it and have a vague idea of what it is.
It's basically where you dress up in... whatever you feel like really, wack some armour on, go as a slightly queer elf, dance round as a mad hypnotherapist snail-mace wielding clown (ok, maybe not) or just make a kick arse warrior priest like I did in the end, lol.
So, ye olde dress up aside, next comes the weapons, they seem to be made out of slightly hardened foam. They dont really hurt when you get wacked with them, although they might hurt a bit if you get hit in the eye >< but everywhere else is all good. I got wacked in the leg/arms/chest numerous times and I dont even have any bruises on the day after. The biggest damage danger... for me anyway, is actually walking into trees, or even better... slamming my arm into a tree ><, I actually managed to draw a bit of blood from that one. Getting entangled up in thorny crap around your legs/feet can also be a pain. The forest is trying to kill me... /run away!
Apart from that, there's a bit of storyline & banter along with some other stuff, like casting spells and setting traps which I'm still a bit clueless/oblivious to as I'd got no idea what the hell was going on. All in all, I thought it might be a bit too nerdy for me before I went actually but it was pretty good fun! Ok, so it is a bit of a hardcore nerdy thing but since when has that stopped me? I might not look like a blatent nerd but I'm probably one of the worst offenders when it comes to constantly playing games/hugging my PS3 and bumming my PC, lol.
Everyone there was pretty friendly and helpful to me and the new guy who had also never done it before. Jesus really does have a bit of a theatrical side which I'd never seen before and well... I just cant help myself, in my head I was laughing my arse off almost 24/7, it's just so funny. Not that it is specifically a comedy act, just compared to everyone else.. who isn't really taking it too seriously, haha!
I'll have to get myself some decent armour/weapons...

I commenced playeth of Tales of Vesperia after I'd completed Star Ocean: Last Hope which wasn't too bad actually, I am tempted to write a full review for it... just because I've not written one in ages (and to see if I still can write fairly decent reviews). I'd probably have to give it a 7/10, maybe a 7.5, as it definitely doesn't deserve an 8 but hmm, maybe a 7 is too low.
Tales of Vesperia is nice, yes, it is another fairly happy bright game in the "tales of" series. I like it better than Tales of Legendia already! I've not played Tales of the Abyss yet so I cant comment on that one. Not sure if it's better than Symphonia... that was a damn good game, it's a shame they severely cocked up the sequel on the Wii. The characters each have their own distinct personalities and traits, unlike the characters in Star Ocean and the skits just help to add to this and fill out the situation and different characters views on various matters within the game. Graphically, it's pretty good, not as nice as Eternal Sonata though as it's semi-cel shaded but then again, when you think that the game is only on one dvd disc, it's quite impressive.
Battles work in a similar way to the previous tales games, although there is an aspect of 3-d fighting this time as you can hold down a button and run anywhere you want on the map rather than just backwards and forwards as before. Unfortunately, some parts of the battle system are a bit slow - particularly the blocking, you have to be fully stopped and even then it takes a while to actually get into the block position. Musically, it's a fairly standard affair so far.
On PS2 I started Persona 3 as George keeps raving about the whole series - that and I've had it long enough that I should have started it years ago, lol. It starts off pretty confusing but it all begins to make sense as everything is gradually explained and hey, it's actually quite cool. A tad on the dark side but Persona games usually are a bit that way inclined, lol. The music is... omg, probably the best music that I have ever heard in a game, it's more like actual songs rather than the drab half-arsed tunes which populate most RPG's and I've got to say, it works surprisingly well. Best soundtrack ever so far.. Graphically it's not bad, a mix of 3d characters with a splash of 2d, fairly traditional RPG. The battle system seems interesting but I've not really fought much yet, I've spent more time farting round the school trying to raise my stats and social links than anything else. Persona's are cool too, it's a bit disturbing that the character shoots themselves in the head every time they need to summon one's abilities though.
PC: I've installed The Last Remnant - not a bad game but the Xbox version was bloody frustrating with it's slow as shit loading times. It doesn't play too badly on the PC as after all, it's just a running around / tactical battle game which can easily suit either a controller or a keyboard.
PS3 wise I am currently ploughing through Disgaea 3 which once you start playing... gets to be damn addictive very quickly. I'm also on a mission to try and get gold on elite mode on every track... I'm currently exactly half way through it and on area 5, it's getting hard!
Just your usual boring obligatory family wedding where nobody has any clue who you are as you haven't seen any of them for the past 15yrs, lol.
Everyone wants to try and hug you and well... thats it, once they've tried to smarm you with their nasty wrinkly gobs, they then bugger off and seem to have no more questions. No "So, what have you been doing for the past 15 years? What are you doing now?" etc, they just walk off!
The groom was so blatently roped into the marriage as well, the bride was 5 months pregnant and has a child... no, adult who is almost my age... and she's about 35. That only speaks one thing to me "you moron! why did you shag that? were you that desperate that you wanted to get lumbered with... that? Urgh, some people just dont think!
Anyway, it was bloody boring, I spent most of the time just camped playing my PSP/DS.
Pic of me in my pro wedding gear. I look like a bit of a twat but it's the best photo of the lot.
